ABOUT THIS ROASTER
Bancroft Roasters is the brainchild of a coffee roaster who has spent his life immersed in the industry. Steven Novello has been passionate about both great coffee and great service since his first steps as a barista, owning multiple successful cafes, managing some of the largest coffee companies in Australia, and now operating his own roastery. As an experienced espresso machine technician, trainer, and customer representative, there are very few roles in the coffee world that he hasn't officially undertaken. The only time he’s not talking about coffee is when he’s drinking it. Extremely determined, he is constantly pushing the boundaries to see what’s possible in the development of flavours and people.
In early 2019, a chance encounter with two similarly motivated industry peers led to collaboration. A shared passion for quality coffee and the advancement of the roasting profession developed into a business opportunity, and the first pieces of what would become Bancroft Roasters started to take shape. Over the next two years Steve gathered his associates - like-minded coffee roasters with a similar drive to his own - established committed relationships with quality coffee growers in Africa, India, South America and Papua New Guinea, and sought out the best coffee roasting equipment the world had to offer. Countless hours of roasting, brewing, and tasting later, and Bancroft Roasters was born.
The result is a coffee roastery that takes quality and sustainability seriously in every aspect of its operations. Throughout the entire supply chain - growing, processing, shipping, roasting, packing, and even delivery - Bancroft Roasters has implemented strategies that minimise the negative impacts we have on the world and its people and instead promote growth. We partner with growers over the long term and pay a fair price for our coffee, backing initiatives at origin that provide social support to their communities. Our roastery is energy efficient, with an OH&S programme and maintenance schedule that demonstrate care for both our staff and equipment. Our packaging is recyclable, and we are continually searching for new ways to make our products and operations respectful to our environment.
While Bancroft Roasters represents the culmination and consolidation of a great deal of industry experience across a bunch of passionate people, we are only just beginning this exciting journey into the development of coffee.
